On September 10, 2023, we were in Folketeatret as the happy recipients of the Lauritzen Foundation’s Children and Youth Prize. The prize was accompanied by DKK 100,000 with a very fine motivation, where it e.g. sounded:
‘Patrasket is a touring children’s theatre, which for almost 40 years has packed the truck, driven around country and kingdom and created theatrical magic in terminally ill gymnasiums, cultural centers and dusty libraries. Magic despite and in deep solidarity with the children and their lives.
40 years of humorous and aesthetically strong performances for the most difficult and best audience group. Patrasket, like few others, can talk about big topics and about difficult feelings – about capitalism, identity, love and philosophy without lifting so much as the tip of an index finger. An ever-innovative play with theater and roles that engages the youngest audience.
At the same time as this achievement, they have continued to develop the theater artistically and have kept up with the times. Patrasket is the kind of theater that doesn’t follow trends – they create them’.
We are very honored by the award and grateful to have our work recognized over the many years.
